When I did Rome on my first cruise 10 years ago, I booked us tickets on the Hop On/Hop Off bus. It goes around and stops at each site you want to visit. You can get off and visit as long as you want and then catch the next one that comes along to get to your next site. If I remember correctly, Termini Station is at/near stop #1 and la Fontana di Trevi is last on the route. I also would highly recommend checking online for entry tickets to the sites you want to go to that require them (e.g. The Colosseo) to avoid having to stand in ridiculously long lines for ticket booths. You'll be able to go right to the entrance.

TripAdvisor… use the website instead of the App… I would use the skip the line tours…we just sectioned out the city and visited each the 3 days we were there.

There are trams throughout the city. You can buy 1 day passes and multiple day passes. The tram passed out hotel and took us to the colosseum and near the Vatican and Castel Sant Angelo.

Consider booking tickets for the Colosseum direct (https://www.coopculture.it/it/#55)... this will save you money and still give you a great tour experience. If you book a tour of the necropolis under the Vatican (http://www.scavi.va/content/scavi/en/ufficio-scavi.html), you will come up at the entrance to the Vatican, bypassing long lines. We took a taxi to the Spanish Steps, then started walking south, stopping at Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. We were able to walk at our own pace, stopping where we wanted.

I booked the Vatican and the coliseum through TripAdvisor

We went 10 years ago and booked thru a tour agency. That way we didn’t have to wait in the long lines. Went to front of the line with Agent. There were 8 in our group.

does your hotel offer Concierge services? that might be a good place to start, tbh.

Hi, just a few off top of my head. The Spanish Steps, Vatican City, Castel Sant'Angelo, the Pantheon, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Piazza Del Popolo, Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine and Vittorio Emanuele II Monument. All worth a visit and I would recommend walking as we got seemed to get around faster due to the sheer volume of traffic. Have a fabulous time 😁

Going by past experience. I would hook up on a walking tour when you get to the Vatican. This lets you do a walk through avoiding queues. I’ve heard that doing this method at the colleseum still incurs a 1 h30 minute wait as they have introduced new security measures for entering the building.
