Beautiful island. Only in photos have I seen the beauty of Greece. We chose to walk up and back down the donkey path. My companions and I didn't approve of the way the donkeys are treated. We never saw any water available for the animals and it was very hot that day.

Must see would be a trip to the excavations at Akrotiri, yet none was offered. Oia is pretty pitoresque and the valcono trip quite enjoyable. for anyone firm on their feet, I strongly recommend walking up the donkey trail (using the donkeys is cruetly to the animals) and the cable car wastes an enormous amount of time waiting.

Did the Ultimate Santorini tour. The guide was knowledgeable and enjoyable. The supplied lunch was disappointing as they served us a chicken platter. Expecting lamb. after the tour, we had free time to find a local gyro stand that was out of this world!!! Just 2,80 euro each!!!

Santorini is it's own reward. Choosing this particular cruise was mostly based on this location. Oia and Thera are beautiful and deliver what is promised.....beauty and true Greek experiences. In Thera, stop in at the Cactus Juice restaraunt for a cactus juice, but if you eat there, expect to pay A LOT.... (156 euro for lunch for 2 and 4 cactus juices)....delicious, but expensive! If you are dying for a donkey ride, take the cable car down and pay only 5euro/head for an experience you will never forget. Nothing quite like climbing the 600 steps on donkeyback! Beautiful scenery...beautiful towns....worth EVERY SECOND!!
