This was another tender port and we stayed on the ship. We could see the steep mountain right off the dock. There was a chair lift or a donkey ride to the mountain top city. At least 3 people were injured on excursions, one broke his ankle. Glad we stayed on the ship.

Yakitori and trip to Kia, with lunch and free time in Fira. Only disappointed was the lunch-delicious, but roast chicken and potatoes. Would have preferred something more ethnic-even a gyro on the street would have been better.

The place was tooo crowded. A lot of ups and downs with walking - that should really be explained. The winery was at 9am for wine - not good!! Then explained if you didn't want wine there would be juice - which there was NOT! So money NOT worth it. Also should be told that you have to either walk down 580 steps or take a cable car straight down a mountain. Just a little scary.

Get off ASAP and get in line for cable car - or else take boat to New port and use buses. The cable car line is very disorganized (line cutters) and took us about 45 minutes or longer. Similar problem on coming back - but only 30 minute line for us. You get in line and get tickets just before you get on cable car - not a separate line. Donkeys on the 400+ stairs can be messy if you decide to walk. Other than cable car and crowds, the port is a solid 5 star. Get private tour in advance if you can as big buses cannot go into small areas.
