Review summary

Each ship we have sailed has been bigger than the one before. With Equinox, we have reached our limit. We will scale back to smaller ships even if price is higher. The on-board experience (Equinox is a great ship!) was nowhere as much fun as earlier cruises where we made many personal connections on board. We made ONE connection on this trip and that started on the transportation TO the ship :(

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Specialty restaurants - over the top! Main dining room - mostly very good food except once; service was not what we had become used to

Entertainment

5 out of 5
absolutely no complaints - love the grass and the glass show on the top deck

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
hard to criticize; only the size of the ship made it hard to "connect" sometimes

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
it would be a '6' if not for the size. maybe I'm being too harsh; either a 4 or 5, but not 6 (too big, impersonal)

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Simply the largest most sumptuous cabin we have ever had - cabin crew was gracious and efficient

Ports of call

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
First time here: Acropolis wonderful! Shopping and eating in Athens wonderful!
Don't Miss: Acropolis for first-timers

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Sorrento is a wonderful town; Pompeii is a wonderful restoration; oh the food is great!
Don't Miss: Pompeii (it rained so glad we did not do famous Amalfi coast)

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

5 out of 5
totally enjoyed the Turkish people; where we went; food; Ephesus ruins restoration was spectacular
Don't Miss: St. Mary's 'home' and Ephesus

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
very picturesque island - glad we had the chance
Don't Miss: shopping - great clothes

Pros: the ship, ports, food

Cons: the size of the ship; main restaurant service not up to prior Celebrity cruises; tipping tipping tipping!
