Did not take an excursion on Mykonos. Walked into the shopping area, dined at a sidewalk cafe and took in the sights. Beautiful area but didn't seem like much else to see.

This was my second trip to Mykonos and still unimpressed. You tender in and there are nothing but shops and restaurants, nothing of particular "Greek" culture like Iraklion (Heraklion) and Corfu. Just a different ambiance than other Greek islands I've visited. I have heard that the nightlife of Mykonos is quite good but our ship left around 8pm and we needed to be back on board by 7 or 7:30.

The pretty streets and the ease of getting around, as well as it's proximity to perfect beaches makes this my favorite island to wander and party. Walk to the windmills and then take the local bus at Fibrika bus station which make stops at several beaches (Ornos/Agios Giannis) that are only about 20 minutes away. 2€. mykonosbus.com

Originally had a private excursion booked for a 6 hour sail around Mykonos but high winds and rough surf caused it to be cancelled. We were bummed out but once we saw how choppy the water was we’re glad wouldn’t have been pleasant. Our ship docked and we took the water taxi with a round trip ticket to Paradise beach. We had about an hour to walk around the town-very cute with a lot of shopping. Took a ferry to paradise beach lots of beach chairs lined up. Walk a little down the beach to find bean bags chairs and umbrellas. The fee for the chairs increases the closer you are to the water. Enjoyed the beach, drinks and lunch. Ferry back to town and then another ferry back to the boat.

Mykonos was a nice port to walk around and see the sights, had lunch and people watch. Felt very safe here. We walked to find the windmills and chose to eat at a water front café. We did a tour from the ship for half the day to Delos which was incredible. The tour group was a large size as most of them are but if you stay close to the tour guide you will see and hear everything. We did have a head set which helped too. This is a 2500 BC Sanctuary with an Amphitheater, was the birth place of mythological Apollo and his sister and so much more. Take a guided tour here to learn all the stories. The spring time was beautiful weather a flowers blooming everywhere we went.
