A fellow solo traveler treated 3 of us to a private tour to the ruins and environs. A fun outing with new-found friends. BEWARE -- every tour ends with a visit to a carpet store. Take a pass on that one.

Even with the rain, the town, Ephesus, Pamukkale, ... this is a great port. Early arrival and half day meant we visited only the town (during heavy rain). Ideally this should be a full day port.

sales people nearly assault you to come into their rug shops. CONSTANT. Not peaceful to try to just walk around

Ancient Ephesus was a great tour. However, the tour company pushed another carpet demonstration.
