The NCL excursion for a hike on the city walls was beautiful but wow! Don't be fooled by how easy 3/4 of a mile sounds - it's a steep hike with uneven footing throughout, even though there are steps most of the way. I was wiped out. The views when you get to the fortress are well worth it though. You're so high up the cruise ships look like little toys. One tip: if you want to save some money don't book an excursion here. We did get a small tour of the old town as well as the hike, but if you just want to hike do it on your own: it's 3 euro per person.

Self-directed. Walked to the fort way up top. Totally worth it and the beer tasted much better afterwards! What a view. Get up early and enjoy every minute of this one!

A hidden jewel. Didn't think it would be so wonderful. Took a private tour via cab. Went to Budva - medieval town. Tour for two with excellent guide - $100 euro for two. Great value we thought.

There wasn't too much to do here. We walked around looked at a few shops and then my kids walked up the mountain. They said it was a little difficult and they are both in shape. I went back to the ship. I was glad they did it so they'd have something to do in port.

The walled city is within walking distance of the ship and should be visited. The shops and cafes are very nice and the area is beautiful. We did an excursion and saw places away from the ship which were also very nice.
