We loved going out into the country side and seeing the old mills and sampling the food as well as visiting the old walled city. It is a beautiful place with the shore and the mountains. Our tour guide was fantastic, as were all of the people we met.

Beautiful city, friendly people. The coral jewelry is beautiful and unique, and the prices are good here. Comparison shop.

Wow! We did the full walk on the walls around the old city. It was hot, and be warned: there is very little shade on top of a wall! Bring water, and lots! By the the time we got half way round, I was convinced I would be reduced to nothing more than two Sketchers full of sweat by the end. Whew! We also did the cable car to the top of the nearby peak and had a very yummy sandwich and fries at the restaurant at the top...what a million dollar view! Got another magnet and also scored a ball cap and t-shirt...

Got a Dubrovnik pass online, collected at cruise port tourist info office, included bus passes, wall entry, fortress etc. great value. Took city bus there and back. Avoid leaving between 4-5.30 very busy but we still managed to squeeze our way on. Bus drivers were both very grumpy!

Awesome! Did the "Dubrovnik Orientation & Konavle Valley " excursion and was more than pleased. Excellent tour guide (Tenna) who was fascinating in her knowledge and analysis of Croatian history. So glad the valley was included - the walk through the mill was very nice and thanks for the treats! Yummy! What a city - unbelievable. Gave me a lot more insight into the countries east of the Adriatic.

Dubrovnik was a lot of fun: we walked the wall that is built around the "old town". The weather was kinda crazy that day: rain and strong winds and then in cleared up just as we were finishing our walk! The views are awesome though, in any weather! We found Dubrovnik to be quite expensive (the Old Town Wall walk costs around 20 euros per person, if I remember correctly). And we made a mistake of ordering Spritz in a cafe without asking the price first.. we were hugely surprised when we learned that its cost was around 13 euros!!! (in Rome and Venice this cocktail costs around 3 euros).

This town is acually over-crowded; the touristic places too, accordingly, the prices are high, and the related service is low-medium. Maybe because of this the given time was not so long. The back-to-ship tender boat service was not optimal: there was a long line: took 45 mins: congested harbour, only one-two boat position on the pier. However, the Costa personnel was efficient and their assistant actions were appropriate and helpful.
