I'm glad to say I have been there. It didn't, however, live up t the hype. Yes there are classic cars but it is still a very poor government controlled country. Beggars in the street and smell you can't imagine. We attempted to bring a few items to our tour guide (soap, toiletries, essentials) and we were denied at the port of entry by Cuban security. They said gifts to the Cuban people were not allowed. I was escorted back to the ship to return our gifts to our stateroom.

Took an all day excursion which half of it was in a covered 1950s sedan And the other half was in a convertible. Our tour guide said he was a teacher. He took some great pictures we really enjoyed ourselves totally educational. We overnighted in Havana Cuba. Which gave us time to do the Tropicana club which was amazing as well as to get out the next day and spend some time sightseeing and buy Cuban cigars. We found the Cuban people to be friendly and nice with no rudeness at all encountered on all parts.

Was so excited to get a new port from Florida as a FL resident, we've been to all the ports many times but not a very pretty country or a lot to do in port with one exception - if you are a classic car enthusiast, you have to go here as old, classic cars are EVERYWHERE!

I have to give it excellent because I've always wanted to visit. Now it has it's drawbacks, it's time consuming to get through immigration , security and money exchange. Once you get on land the people are so welcoming. We must remember we are not accustomed to some of their ways and embace it and move on. Just enjoy the the people, food , drink and culture I think it's best to take an early excursion. We had late excursion and it rained so we got started late and some places were closed when we arrived. Our host was the best, we had alternate places to go, so got to see some places not planned on the orginal excursion

we did the EZ Havana Excursion and it was great for my friends as some of them had problems with neuropathy from previous chemotherapy. I think the best tour we took was the horse and buggy tour because he brought us to places that the buses really didn't go and it was so personal being right there with him with just a couple other people! You can negotiate the price and I would say a horse and buggy for a couple hours around Havana will show you a lot of what you wouldn't see on a regular tour!

Glad we went, especially as the current administration is making travel to Cuba VERY difficult. Loved the people, the culture, etc. Booked a Havana tour PRIVATELY- we suggest you do the same- an MSC shore excursion is NOT REQUIRED, and you don't have to have anything scheduled for the next day. The REQUIRED Cuban visa (sold on the ship) means you can get on/off the ship as much as you like for the entire time you're docked.*CHECK THE BOX MARKED 'SUPPORT FOR THE CUBAN PEOPLE"- absolutely no hassles- nobody even looks or cares.

Take your own toilet paper. Marketplace was very overwhelming. Very small walkways between tiny cramped booths. Be prepared to be bombarded by all. Our tour guide told us all the booths have the same things so just shop for price. She was right! Don’t waste your time going down all the aisles. My daughter collects postcards. There are none to be found anywhere. People were very nice. As many have commented it is sad to see a country with so much promise squander it away. Loved the old classic cars!. You can tip the drivers to sit in one for a picture if you don’t take a tour/ride.
