We booked a beach day which included lunch. Our tour driver took us to Darkwood beach about 20 minutes from the dock. We had the beach to ourselves (along with another older couple) for about 2 hours before the other tours vans began arriving. We snorkeled, swam and relaxed. Really enjoyed our time there.

We always walk the port then go to St James Beach. It’s close, clean, cheap, and quite. Food, drinks, and changing/bathroom facilities are great, and fast, free, wi_fi!

Antigua is awesome! We wanted to find the best local spot to snorkel and opted for Dickenson Beach which was a short cab ride from the ship. The snorkeling was not particularly great there so the rest of my group took a short boat ride to a cove around the bend. The water there was turbulent and choppy which made snorkeling problematic. The group enjoyed the return boat ride and settled in on the beach. Dickenson beach is one of 365 beaches on this island and has to be one of the best. I can honestly say that I did not want to leave. We had drinks there and food served to us on the beach by a local restaurant. We enjoyed our stop in Antigua and plan to go back when we can. There seems to be plenty of places to explore and snorkel. Just an overall awesome experience!

the Island is beautiful no matter what part you visited, It was an easy day, just did a beach excursion, found out we could have done it on our own because all the beaches were free so I could have got a taxi and spent the day instead of it being a 3 hr tour, the tour guide was nice and pretty much was the one that did everything from the food he cooked while we went and laid out and the live music that he provided with another individual, jack of all trades I guess.

This is such a beautiful island! We did a taxi tour with a local woman, who explained the history and politics of the island. We also happened to be on the island on Emancipation Day, so they had their carnival parade, which was easily the coolest thing I have experienced.
