We went to valley church beach and it was beautiful. However the whole taxi situation is horrible. Antigua really didn’t provide much shopping outside of the duty free areas.

Probably the most beautiful island. 366 beaches, all public property (but not all are accessible via roads). We booked on our own the Antigua Eco tour https://adventureantigua.com/the-eco-tour/ and it was great. Small comfortable boat, about 20 participants, a lot of information about the island, beaches, celebrities, the exclusive long island, sea turtles, dolphins (we saw both on the trip very close). During the tour we skipped the walking tours and enjoyed the water snorkling. The stop on bird island is a dream of a beach. Snorkling is as well good (but don't expect it to be like in Thailand or Australia, still lots of fish and coral). This island is next time worth an own holiday visit.

We did not do an excursion, but did take a taxi to Dickinson Bay Beach. The weather was great and we spent the day relaxing on the beach and in the ocean. Everyone we met on the island was friendly.

We hired a cab with two other ladies from the ship. He toured us to a few places and then dropped us at Darkwood Bay beach for a few hours to relax. He came back and picked us up at the appointed time and dropped us at the market, right by the ship, to shop for a bit. If we did it again, we’d rent a car to see the island on our own. We had a great time at the beach and our cab driver was great, don’t get me wrong.

WOW! The beaches here are phenomenal. We did a Segway tour through fort James. It was a great experience. The shopping area has lots of pushy cab drivers trying to take you to one of their amazing beaches.
