We loved Puerto Rico. We arrived there two days prior to sailing so we could do our own touring. The airlines lost my luggage so it caused us a big change in plans for a whole day. We thoroughly enjoyed touring the forts and rain forest. What a gorgeous island with wonderful friendly people.

We went to the castle of St Cristobal on our own. US military discount here so bring your ID. The castle and the views were awesome. Lots of streets to walk down and great food!

This port we done a tour of the Old and the New San Juan. Went to see some underground tunnels used in the war to protect the city.

Old San Juan beautiful as always. Besides the major store for shopping, lots of little mom and pop local shops. We stopped in CVS to stock up on some snacks and toiletries and then walked around a bit. Also bought stuff at Marshalls and Rainbow - just cause :) Try to stop at some of the local vendors and buy coconut drops. Yum!

This port was wonderful!!!!! I really have to say that this is one port that needs to be from 7:00 to 5:00. I felt extremely rushed trying to see as much as I could. So much history on the island, but not enough time to enjoy! Favorite port!

Try to get there a day early and stay a day at the end of the cruise. I didn't get to explore the beautiful island because as soon as we arrived we boarded the ship and hopped on a plane as the cruise was over. Even still, the island looked like an awesome place to explore.

From listening to the news, I was expecting PR to be in shambles still, but was pleasantly surprised to see that the city was thriving.
