We stayed 3 days prior to the cruise at a wonderful boutique hotel in Old San Juan. Post Maria, the area is open but very quiet. We found shop keepers were eager for business, but very friendly and openly talked about their experiences. The PR people are passionate and hopeful towards recovery.

Paradise. Everything is beautiful. Many restaurants, bars, points of interest, nightlife, and the people is so nice. It is great for photographers. Walking distance.

This was my favorite port of the 3 I went to. We did the salsa & rum excursion. Our tour guide was awesome, and informative. I enjoyed making my own mojito, and the salsa lesson. This port however you could enjoy on your own..lots to see, beautiful buildings and the people were very welcoming and nice. If you need to buy souvenirs for many, save your money for this port. There is a better variety and everything is cheaper than the other 2 ports. And you can haggle, which I like. I didn't do the beach, my roommate did she enjoyed it however said the area the went the waves were too rough to swim. Lastly the food is awesome. I recommend their dish MOFONGO, I like it with steak meat but you can do it with shrimp too.

The San Cristobal Castle is very interesting and worth the $5.00 admission. Don't miss the new HD movie inside the air-conditioned room that gives you wonderful info about its history.

The best port of the entire cruise, there is so much to see, Old San Juan is beautiful, it’s like being in Spain with friendlier people. San Juan is to spend at least two days. We felt very safe walking in the streets of Old San Juan. The night life at the Condado area is amazing with a lot of fine restaurants; we loved the local food, don’t miss the “mofongo” with “churrasco” with rice and beans.

Old San Juan was our favorite. There is still hurricane damage but it was intersting to learn about the damage and recovery. We did an excursion thru the ship to tour old and new San Juan and the transport us to the airport.

San Juan showed quite a bit of damage from Hurricane Marie but the walking tour was pleasant and the guide was very knowledgable.
