Excellent cruise! This was our #12 cruise and the first Viking ocean cruise. We plan on cruising on Viking again soon. We especially liked the fact that no one was constantly trying to sell us something. Also all wine, beer and soft drinks were included at both lunch and dinner. Cold bottled water was provided at the beginning of every excursion and occasionally they had wine for us upon our return to the ship.

No problems at all. Viking handled our luggage and the shuttle from JFK to the ship was a real pleasure.

We ate in all restaurants and they were, without exception, Excellent! I especially liked the fact that I could order a steak cooked to my taste at the buffet if the regular offerings might not be to my liking. This was not the norm however as the selections were normally excellent! My wife especially liked the boiled shrimp offered at practically every meal.
Onboard Activities

The free spa was excellent as well as the port talks given in the theater every day. In cabin movie selection was also very good with up to date movies as well as some classic TV series. In fact, we started watching Downton Abby and are continuing the series at home on Amazon Prime.
Entertainment

The musicians playing in the atrium in the afternoons were really good and we enjoyed the musical productions offered after dinner in the theater. The dancers and singers were excellent.
Service and Staff

Service was excellent in all parts of the ship. Our cabin steward was really good and the wait staff in each restaurant were excellent. This even included the buffett where our drink orders were taken quickly and special order food was brought to the table as soon as it was prepared. A great big Thank You to all our waiters.
Ship Quality

This is by far the nicest liner we have ever been on. Viking has taken extra pains to provide a long lasting pleasant experience. Crew was constantly cleaning and wiping in all areas that we visited.
Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was good size with a coffee table and 2 comfortable chairs. The balcony was large enough to have 2 chairs and a table big enough to have a room service meal. Not the usual small table only large enough to hold a couple of drinks. The bed was really nice and the shower was outstanding!!

Get ready to enjoy a wonderful experience. Viking has researched ocean cruising and has hit a home run!!
We went to the 9-11 memorial and museum. The shuttle to and from the memorial had a driver who was most informative and made the bus ride quite a learning experience.
Very nice at the terminal in San Juan. Customs was in the terminal and everything went well. The airport was still powered by generators which seemed to work well. One problem was the lack of seating in the large area prior to security checkin. Once at the gate however seating was ample.
