Nice port but you will need to book some type of excursion because the shopping is limited.

We did a Bayahibe Resort Day at the Be Live Resort, it was absolutely awful. The food was either cold or didn't taste good, the drinks were okay. The staff was rude and not helpful at all. Really disappointed to have paid 111.99 per person and did not find it to be worth that.

We booked an excursion to Catiliana Island. I would totally reccommend this excursion because it is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen!

It was ok. Not a lot of shopping or activity options on the port. We did the train tour.

We weren’t too impressed with The Dominican Republican. They are definitely set up for tourists to shop at high end stores when you get off the ship. My husband did get a Cuban cigar and cup of coffee before we went back on the ship. I hate smoking, and he has really done a great job of cutting back on this dirty, smelly and unhealthy habit....I knew that he wanted one and I wanted him to enjoy his vacation as much as he always makes sure I enjoy mine. ❤️ We did see quite a few of these HUGE iguanas chilling out wherever!

Please do not go on the tour where they drop you off down town. It’s best to do a private tour on a mini van and see the island. I did not feel safe at times. Just my experience.

I hate giving a low review because I didn't really get to see anything. All I can say is book an excursion there is nothing to do right off the ship, there were a few little tents and a little market area for very limited shopping. We were going to book an excursion but our group couldn't decide on one and just didn't do one which I truly regret. Once we saw there was nothing to do right off the ship, we thought we'd hop on a bus and head downtown but there were so many people coming back saying not to take the bus there that as soon as they got off the bus you were harassed by people trying to sell you stuff worse than the Bahamas and since it was raining we just ended back up on the ship.
