Not much to do here. Elected the Altos de Chavon for sightseeing. Was very beautiful, but not entirely ready for tourists yet. (unopened restaurants and shops). But it was like visiting a beautiful village in Italy.

We toured off the beaten path and saw the countryside and the sugarcane plantations and enjoyed the factory where they did hand-made cigars

Shopping with not much to buy. You can walk to the town square in about 10-15 minutes, but they try to sell you a round trip bus ticket for $5.

We took the electric bike tour -- it was fun and we were able to experience a real village in Dom Rep.

We visited the Artists Colony and had a drink in one of the restaurants. It was interesting to see it, but trying to return to the ship on the free shuttle buses was a ridiculously long wait in the hot sun.

The old town was very pretty, but not much to do. The locals are very, very pushy. Buyer beware, you are beleived to have purchased an item simply by looking at the item. Locals are scary for some

I called Casa del Campo prior to our departure and arranged to buy a day pass for $40 per person which included lunch. We paid a taxi to take us there. The beach was lovely and the lunch very good.
