We wound up in "Samana", which was horrible. Not safe - there were police at each tourist stop and you were constantly asked for money. Didn't hear one person like this stop.

We went off road and saw much of the countryside including the people that live and work there. It was quite interesting and the guide was excellent.

The place was dirty, and people all over you. Trying to take you to the alie ways. This place i recommend you take off your list.

The place is gorgeous, but the people are not friendly at all. I felt uncomfortable with there hostility.

There is not a lot to do here. We opted for the snorkeling which was OK but the water was rough. We saw some fish but I would recommend St. Thomas if you really wanted to snorkel. We have been on other cataraman tours and this one was just average. If we stop at this port again we would probably stay on the ship.

Didn't enjoy this stop at all, the shuttle took us to a tourist trap, we would have much better seen the actual town

The shore excursion titled "Countryside Tour" was a disappointment. We were taken on an open top truck down miles of dirt roads to the center of acres of sugar cane fields. There were 18 people pushed together on the ride with no room to move or even take a deep breath. The guide barely spoke english and was unable to answer even the simplest questions. It was interesting to see sugar cane but otherwise the 3 hour tour was less than enjoyable.
