The island is recovering from last year's back to back big hurricanes. We went to Ocean World on an excursion, and it was awesome. We'll do it again if we make it back there.

We traveled with 'Amber Cove Excursions' to enjoy their excursion: 'Puerto Plata Highlights and Golden Beach Escape'. It was a bit of a walk to get out of the cruise terminal area, but it was worth it!

Amber cove was very cool. The provided pool with swim up bar was awesome, it did get very crowded but was not to much to handle. Would like to explore more if we come back again.

Beautiful port with great food and pool area. I did the ATV excursion with Marisol and had to walk outside the port area to meet them. The walk is long so take advantage of the guys on the bike to save time. The excursion was worth it. We had an excellent time and was well taken care of. Would definitely use them again.

I did the Ocean World excursion and loved it. It was a bit pricey but swimming with the dolphins is something you need to do at least once.

This was a nice port. It's about a 30 minute walk to a small beach. A lot of pressure from the taxi drivers and shop merchants which I didn't like. Bring your passport, they'll stamp it for you. Nice hot day. I'm going back in 26 days so I'll be able to explore some more.
