We did an excursion and we enjoyed it very much. My only problem with most ports is the distance one has to walk to get from ship to shore as I have difficulty walking long distances.

Was not happy with this port! We got off the ship into what looked like a compound! There was zip line, small rental place, and a pool with swim up bar (pool was free for cruise quests) It looks like the different cruise lines put money together to make this big closed area full of stores! We were so far from everything! You had to take a shore excursion or walk a ways to get a cab.

We would have enjoyed the pool area and water toy rentals as this port developed by Carnival looks like a fun day in itself. We ended up choosing the Outback Safari with Outdoor Adventures (through Carnival), which we thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.

Port was great, we took a taxi tour and paid $100 for 6 of us. We visited the Amber museum, it was small, but worth the visit.

The excursion was fantastic, our guide, bus your of Puerto Plats , The botanical gardens with the statue of Christ the Redeemer and the ride down in the cable car we’re all very beautiful and charming.
