Did not do an excursion, got off to just look in the shops. However, I must have missed the part where they said the shops are in ocho rios, and you would have to take a bus there. There are no shops in Montego Bay. Unless you have an excursion, stay on the boat.

The horseback ride trail and swim was a good experience. The tour guides there are a bit rude and impatient. Overall I enjoyed riding the horse through the water more than I did the trail, which by the way is shared with ATVs. A good place to visit in town for food and swim is "Margaritaville" located on the bay, and where you can enjoy music and a slide into the water with water trampolines. There's also a beautiful beach down the street where you can sit and relax.

Montego Bay looks like a beautiful place and we enjoyed our two hour tour on a semi-sub and snorkeling. We were not able to explore Montego Bay in greater depth because our ship arrived late due to an unforseen departure delay from Ft. Lauderdale.

Rose Hall wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Then the shopping area we were supposed to go to we were told was closed, but at the end of our excursion we were given 20 minutes at the downtown market area. Would like to get back to Jamaica and do a beach excursion.

The city was that of a third world country so be prepared. I would advise going to one of the natural beauty areas such as Dunns River Falls or experiencing some of the water activities. Shopping was a bargaining game. Rafting the Martha Brae was relaxing but not worth the cost of the excursion.
