Q: Are older people able to easily get on and off the Magic Flying Chairs? Will be cruising with my older brother and am afraid the walk over to the beach will possibly be too far for him. Just want to be prepared.

Answer Question
Q: We were just at this port and I’m trying to figure out the name of one of the stores we went to. It was a clothing store, mostly women’s. Lots of sweatshirts, higher end than most of the shops. It was one of the last shops before the chairlift. If someone could please get me the name I would greatly appreciate it!!

A: Yes - you do need to leave the port area though. We have held the sloths at Daniel Johnson’s and also at Manawakie (animal reserve?). Both are an awesome experience!!
Answered by NeedToVacation on March 16, 2024
A: AJs is much much better than Daniel Johnsons. Many more animals and much better interactions. I've done both and it's not close.
Answered by cbyron3 on March 19, 2024
A: You will need to leave the port area and do an excursion to see the monkeys and sloths. I recommend Daniel Johnson's Monkey and Sloth Hangout. Great place, fantastic staff, and very reasonably priced as well. We loved our day with them!
Answered by LisaKitty on March 19, 2024
A: Yes in Roatan there are sloths and monkeys at the same excursion.
Answered by yohowilli on March 18, 2024
A: We’ve done the sloths. You don’t really need to do an excursion at this port though. Beautiful beach with a couple of bars and restaurants along with some shops are all right at this port.
Answered by Babsie1963 on February 4, 2024
A: The sloths are always fun, just avoid Daniel Johnsons. Very lame as compared to other options.
Answered by cbyron3 on February 4, 2024
A: Don’t sell the beaches short. Mahagony Bay beach is right there, at the port, very clean and free. West Bay beach is 30+ minutes away but has decent snorkeling.

A: Im assuming you are sailing on Carnival. At Rostand, Carnival uses a private harbor which is Mahogany Bay. Majority of the excursions are right at port. Beach is walkable and chairs readily available. With this said, I do enjoy going to French... Key (either Little or Big) on Roatan.See More

Q: Question about the free beach, do you have to purchase a clam shell before you pick one at a certain area or is someone collecting money and setting up your clam shell as you get there?

A: You can make the rental prior to boarding, at the excursion desk, or pay at the kiosk in port. Payment due at time of reservation. The clamshells are setup already in a particular spot, with the choice of which set of loungers on a first come first t... o pick location within that area. Some people find the lack of airflow stuffy.See More

A: We book as an excursion from Carnival, a package for 2 people, a clamshell, 2 loungers, 2 water floats, and unlimited chair lift rides. The last time I booked it was in early 2020, so not sure if still offered. At that time it was only about $69, and... that is for 2.See More

Answer QuestionA: One time, we did a tour w/ zip lining; last time, we just went across the street from the port. It was fun. No reservations were required. We just chilled at the beach right there (in port) afterwards.

A: We took a private tour from a local. We got to hold a sloth at the sloth sanctuary and went to the iguana sanctuary. Got to see the entire island. Ended the day at a beach bar. The local was great, she was very informative and told us she has never... seen snow. Also told us a lot about local life, like they don’t let dogs come in the house, we told her ours sleep in bed with us and she couldn’t believe it.See More

A: This is one of those ports where you don’t even have to leave the port area. This is a great stop to just have a beach day and relax on the beach and relax. I’m sure they do have guided tours though, but the port area has plenty to do without even le... aving.See More

A: Yes they have different tours you can do
Answered by SharonCeleste on January 3, 2023
A: Bodden Tours is awesome! We have used them twice. We like the private tour. They picked up just our group in a van, took us back to their wild life park. We zip lined, it was amazing. We saw all the animals and got to hold a Sloth. Then they took us... where we wanted to go. Many things to choose from, rum factory, glass bottom boats, snorkeling, beach, eating and shopping at the west end are some of what we have done, but there are even more to choose from.See More

A: We did ATV ‘s and visit to a beautiful beach package . We loved both !
Answered by cruisingismyjam on November 25, 2022
A: They have a great beach that you can walk to and hang for the day! There is also a place to get food and drinks for a charge right behind the beach!
Answered by strauss3396 on November 21, 2022
A: The ATV excursion allows you to use a Gopro, but it has to be attached to your helmet or body you can't hold it in hand. there is a rack on the front of the ATV but you'll need a handle bar mount for that.
Answered by bryamartin on November 26, 2022
A: We did the ATV's also, the trails were muddy, plenty of mud puddles... Yes we had a blast and needed the beach to wash away the mud 😂🤣 but I'll prefer a mud trail over a dusty one any day.
Answered by bryamartin on November 26, 2022
A: We did the zip line. It’s across from port area easy walk & then zip line ends at the beach. So much fun would do it again!

A: This is a very nice port to shop and walk around. The beach is in walking distance or you can pay to take the sky chairs over. We always just walk down to the beach, it’s an easy walk. I always look on You Tube to see any videos of where we are going... and there usually is. Enjoy😎See More

A: We went to Little French Key with zip line one year. A couple of years before we just went to the free beach. The beach wasn’t crowded at all the year we went. But Little French Key was probably booked to capacity. If we have the chance, I’m sure... we’ll be going back to Little French Key. Just walk out of the gate at the top of the hill at the port, and turn left. That’s where that picked us up at.See More
