I would not stay in port.They have too much to see. Little French Key. Big French Key for beaches. Don't miss they sloths,monkeys and Iguanas

This is one of those ports where you don’t even have to leave the port area. This is a great stop to just have a beach day and relax on the beach and relax. I’m sure they do have guided tours though, but the port area has plenty to do without even leaving.

We took a private tour from a local. We got to hold a sloth at the sloth sanctuary and went to the iguana sanctuary. Got to see the entire island. Ended the day at a beach bar. The local was great, she was very informative and told us she has never seen snow. Also told us a lot about local life, like they don’t let dogs come in the house, we told her ours sleep in bed with us and she couldn’t believe it.
