Take the taxi from the port. Local taxi drivers are very pushy/agressive and expensive. It's cheaper to jump on a taxi shuttle from the port

We stayed within the confines of the port area. We ate at Margaritaville and the food was so-so. The shops were typical of shops throughout the Caribbean. We did find some locally made items as gifts. .

We did the island tour and rum tasting. The tour was Ok. Reggae river and Fern Gully were beautiful. My son really liked the river. The food was great. We had lobster and roasted chicken with polenta, hush puppy like thing, greens and rum runner. The rum tasting was OK, I'm not much of a drinker.

Port was great. Never felt unsafe at any moment. Did the BAMBOO RIVER RAFTING excursion. Beautiful and relaxing. The downside is along the river during the tour, vendors are a bit insistant to sale you there crafting. One guy jumped in the river to gave us a mini bamboo boat that he made himself. Guide told us to gave him 5$ for it. He came back later with another one and we had to give him another 5$.

Disembarkation and embarkation was GREAT! The Falmouth was safe and clean. We were able to find our group fairly easily. We visited the Bamboo Beach Club. Tiffia was our hostess and she did a GREAT job along with Sheena. There was plenty to eat/drink and the entertainment was excellent. The restrooms were okay considering they are on a beach. The down side, well, we were lucky we were the first ones on the beach because we were able to get the chairs in the shade. Had we been much later, it would have been a long uncomfortable day in the Jamaican sun. Thanks Tiffia for getting us there early! The other down side was the beach/swim area is small, which means it gets crowded fast. If you want to snorkle, forget it. It is too crowded and get too murky with so many people. If my husband and I had known this, we probably would have done a different excursion where we could've snorkled easier. If you're not into snorkling and just want beach time with great food/drink, then this is the place for you!
