Review summary

Overall Oasis is a nice ship. The food and activities were ok, but the ship lacked a water slide. The boardwalk area at the back of the ship was our favorite place. A lot of the activities seem kind of dated...time to drag cruising into the 21st century?

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was incredibly fast and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I didn't try the specialty restaurants. The main dining rooms and buffets were fine--not terrible but nothing to write home about. At least I wasn't tempted to overeat.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Most were not really my thing (shopping lectures, bingo etc). The multitude of hot tubs was nice. My son enjoyed the zip line but ice skating would have been better with lessons.

Entertainment

My son is on the autism spectrum and can't handle shows so we didn't go to any

Children's Programs

My son is on the autism spectrum and facilities not set up to handle special needs so we didn't use

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The five stars is largely for our cabin attendant Benjamin who was absolutely fantastic and amazing. He made us feel like we were in a 4 star hotel.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was definitely clean but feeling a wee bit tired in a few places (worn carpeting etc).

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Very, very small cabin with few amenities compared to cabins on other ships; location was really nice though

Ship tip

Don't go during Spring Break--too crowded. Back of the ship is a really nice area--less wind and easy access to boardwalk

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

2 out of 5
Wouldn't do this again--taking the shuttle from Orlando was kind of a pain

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

2 out of 5
Island was beautiful but nickel and diming for activities just stressed me out

Falmouth, Jamaica

4 out of 5
We did the Duns Falls and Green Grotto Cave (Booked through Royal Caribbean) and enjoyed this excursion very much.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did a snorkeling trip (booked through a local vendor) that was amazing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and Easy

Oasis is the first in that class. Harmony or Symphony would have probably been more to your liking based on your review. Be sure to do your homework before you book.
