All of the tours left early at 8:30. We chose not to take any. We just enjoyed the port.

We did the Thrill seeker adventure with food and a complimentary bar at the Good Hope plantation. It was wonderful. We went ziplining, ATV riding in some rocky terrain, river rafting and much more. It was amazing.

We did river tubing here. Jamaica wasn’t our favorite. It’s pretty but also looks run down so to the fact that people don’t have to finish building their houses before moving in so you have a lot of half built houses. Tourism is the main source of income for the country so people are extremely pushy. It’s understandable but a little on the much side.

We did not book an excursion, instead the 3 of us disembarked at 7 am and went straight to where the cabs were. We rented a cab to take us to Duns River Falls (about a 45 minute ride) with a cabby named David (aka Big Bird) from David Transportation Service. 876-425-1432. $150 round trip. We were first ones at Duns Falls and part of first group to ascend. By the time we were done and back out in parking lot it was full of buses and lots of activity as the tour directors assembled their groups, giving us time for Big Bird to show us some of the areas off the beaten path. Lots of fun, very interesting. $150 cab fare total

We negotiated with Marlon (mcintosh.marlon@yahoo.com) outside of the gate for our transportation to Blue Waters beach. Charged half of what inside the gates wanted. Was waiting for us to transport back to ship as promised. Very professional. It's a disgrace how the people inside the gate (and Princess) use scare tactics to get people to use their highly over-priced services. This was our 3rd time to this port. It's nice to go to a beach and have a nice beach chair. Worth the money spent. Our total out of pocket was $40 for the day.

The port is gorgeous. Jamaica is a poor country, so expect that and you will do fine. Beautiful beaches. We did the resort for a day - "Paradise Cove. " Note: it is an hour (or more) bus ride away so that really cuts into your relaxation time.
