Lovely port. We also did the Jamaican Food and Cultural tour. Come hungry! Sherille was a TERRIFIC guide! She was so knowledgeable about the landmarks and history of the city! She also seemed to know everyone! I had heard people voice concerns about safety in Falmouth, but we felt safe the entire time. We learned so much about Jamaican history and the food was amazing. I would recommend this to anyone! I might suggest you tell them you want to share the meat patties. They are amazingly good, but HUGE! The tour ended at a historic home in the garden. That is where you take dessert and you are even able to go in and look around the first floor.

Definitely explore using a taxi or private tour. We spent about $150 for a private van for our friends and our family for 2 hours. It is very poverty stricken, but I think important to expose kids to life outside the US. I would not go outside the gates on my own. I did not find the peddlers to be worse than Cozumel. Consider rafting for families. My daughter loved making her own basket inside the gated area- a great $10 spent.
