The port is nice and there’s a ton of little shops. The best advice I can give is give lowball offers for anything you want to buy. Ex) I bought a little carved wooden mask for $35 when they were wanting 200. And that goes for any port actually

We’ve been to Cozumel several times and decided to book an excursion this time. We booked through Carnival the Catamaran to Passion Island excursion. We boarded the catamaran right at the pier and took a 45 minute ride to the island. It was a very windy and bumpy ride. We got soaked but our three year old loved it. Our tour guide, Edwin, was wonderful. He made sure everyone knew exactly what was going to happen and at what time. The beach has lounge chairs, there are tables and chairs also, as well as seating in the “restaurant”. The food was buffet style...fries, rice with bananas, tacos, nachos. The food was ok, but we didn’t go for the food. There were no “toys” out in the water like at Plia Mia, but that was ok with us. Our little one wanted to play in the sand and swim in the ocean. The view is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful beach and blue ocean. There were hammocks out in the water you could lay in. Staff waited on you or you could go to the bar. The excursion was all inclusive, that was nice. There isn’t electricity on the island so don’t go thinking it’s a resort. There are staff in the children’s area to keep them entertained. The children’s area had basketball hoops, a slide, swings, and arts/crafts. This is a nice excursion for getting away from the crowds. They did have a few things for adults...dancing, a water ballon game, limbo etc. the island was clean and primitive. I would recommend this excursion.

Lots of shopping right as you get off ship. Was a bit disappointed not to find a Swarovski store, as I usually buy a piece or two in Caribbean as they get different merchandise than the US dealers do. If you want to take a short taxi ride (5-7 min) there’s more shopping. I did a snorkel trip and because of conditions they changed the location, which was disappointing, but you can’t do much about weather. I was scheduled for starfish sanctuary and palancar reef, but didn’t get to go there.

Absolutely loved Chaknaab park! Reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Ocean was beautiful and facilities were clean. All inclusive lunch buffet was nothing special, but free sea lion show was very cool!

We did the Jeep tour and it was so great. We snorkeled and the drove Jeep's to a public beach with beautiful large waves of crystal clear pool water. That was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen! We then stopped and tasted tequila and had lunch. Great day in Cozumel. One of my favorites.

We went to El Cozumeleno this time while in Cozumel because Mr Sanchos is closed on Sundays. Although the food is not as good as Mr Sanchos, it was still a lovely day!

Have been to Cozumel twice. I save my pennies to buy silver jewelry and expensive watches. Several jewelers have special stock in the back room. Be sure to ask.

The ship's excursion to the Mayan ruins at Tulum is long. The ride across the bay is extremely rough. Many people got sick. The tour guide spend an inordinate time on sales pitches and very little time was spent at the ruins.
