We chose not to book an excursion and explore the island ourselves. We took a taxi down to Punta Sur. Visited the lighthouse, which was pretty cool, and had AMAZING views! Also visited the beach on Punta Sur. It was beautiful! Not crowded at all, the sand was white and water crystal clear!

We have found our favorite restaurant to visit in Cozumel is Pancho’s Backyard. The original location is north of the RCCL port area , and would be a really long hike. We have found that it is about $8 - $10 for a cab one way . The fajitas are a good serving size & i had enjoyed them on at least 5 cruises. My wife loves their Chimichanga . The Margaritas are refreshing , & they have a live marimba band that is entertaining. It happened that we were there on my wife’s birthday this year , & when I told them about it , they went all out ! Out came a large tequila shot for both of is & they have a large picture frame which says Pancho’s Backyard & Happy Birthday on it that they hold up in front of the Birthday person so you can take pictures to commemorate the occasion. The atmosphere is festive @ the service has always been great. If you are looking for a local Mexican Restaurant while visiting Cozumel give Pancho’s a try 😎

Just walking of the ship and seeing 5 gigantic cruise ships docked at the port you may wonder. But no matter how many thousands of people disembarked almost the same time, the authorities still managed the flood of tourists. We booked the ATV Jungle Adventure & Beach excursion and gladly found our meeting spot after a short walk. About 15 minutes later we walked to our air conditioned tour bus. A short drive to the jungle we had personal lockers and yes, bathrooms. And off we went to a 70 minutes fun ride. In between we had stops to take pictures of iguanas watching us passing by, and to learn about some history and the flora and fauna. These 70 minutes were filled with a lot of fun. We didn’t want it to end. Afterwards we had a short drive to a beach hotel / restaurant and could use all the amenities like beach lounge chairs, showers, towels, etc., all included in the excursion price. The restaurant though had a really great kitchen and as the time was short for doing too much other fun stuff we just hung out for a wonderful lunch and some drinks. A wonderful experience with wonderful guides. Keep your memories but leave your tips!

The beaches were amazing! People were nice. Fish very friendly lol. They kept rubbing up against us. Lots of coral pieces and small shells. Needed a whole week just on the beach.
