Review summary

The ship was magnificent. The food & service was incredible. The entertainment was spectacular. The stateroom was very comfortable. The only thing that will keep me from booking again on a large ship again is waiting in lines for everything only to find out that if you didn't already have a reservation you could not go in! That was for "my time dining" & all the shows. (And we were just a party of two. I'd hate to hear how long a larger party had to wait. Probably had to eat in the Windjammer every night) I'm going to stick with the smaller ships for my next cruise

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Good food & service

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Ship has a lot to offer

Entertainment

3 out of 5
This was difficult to rate because we couldn't get into anything without a reservation. Cats was too long of a show (2 hrs 40 mins) for a cruise ship

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly and courteous

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Was one of the easiest ship to get around. With as many elevators the ship has, it seemed all I did was waited for them. Would have taken the stairs more if we were able.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very comfortable, easy to locate, close to stairs & elevators.

Ship tip

Make reservations for everything BEFORE you get onboard the ship

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Very convenient

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

2 out of 5
Too crowded. Not enough chairs in the shade. All the umbrellas were already booked. Too far away from the food. Beach is very rocky-Bring water shoes

Falmouth, Jamaica

Cozumel, Mexico

We took a taxi ($13) for 2 people to a beach called Sky reef. It was Great. We paid $49 each for 4 hours we received all we could eat & drink, 5 minutes shoulder massage, &snorkeling gear. It was the best day of the cruise.

I am surprised that you had long wait times for my time dining. I was on Oasis 9/17/16 and although my friend and I already had dinner reservations, we ended up going at different times 3 or 4 nights and the most we waited was maybe 10 minutes

RCL states for best access to shows and food you must make reservations ahead of time.

Just like big dog people and small dog people, there are big ship cruisers and little ship cruisers. Hopefully the smaller ships are not eliminated in the future. All new builds are bigger and bigger.

Some reservations can only be made on board, such as comedy shows and tenders.

90 days before the cruise, which is just after you make the final paiement. Same for all reservations. Shows, restaurants.

How far out could you book the shows?

Research. Research. Research. It's a must when you go on a new cruise ship or a new cruise line. That way, you don't end up with bad surprises that could've been avoided. Maybe it's a lesson learned the hard way?

All shows for a large ship like that has to be reserved online ahead of cruise. I did that and had no problem. As for Anytime Dining, I never tried that on that ship. I had a set dining time.
