A: Cozumel is a self-contained tourist island. Zero concerns. Mexico is safer than the vast majority of US urban areas, just stay aware of your surroundings. Of all cruise ports, Cozumel is as safe as it gets.

A: It’s not like the movies Mexico is very safe I have been several times even spending a few weeks in Cancun never had any problem I would go to Cozumel before I would go to Detroit , Philadelphia or St. Louis

A: Cozumel is extremely safe. We have been there on 9 Cruises and we were there in March for a week. Wonderful people there.
Answered by Frogboo95 on January 14, 2023
A: I just spent a week in Cozumel for Thanksgiving. Never once did I feel unsafe or at edge. It's a beautiful island with very nice people.
Answered by Joesacruisin on January 13, 2023
A: Mexico is no different than any downtown city. Be aware of your surroundings; trust your instincts. Fear is good it protects us. But don't let Fear be your jailer.
Answered by gina423 on January 15, 2023
A: I personally wouldn’t do that on a Cozumel day. If you do it, book through the cruise line. Normally- I would advise otherwise as we often go “on our own”. But what you’re trying to accomplish is a very long day that requires many cogs to fall into p... lace perfectly to get done and back to the ship. We love Cozumel- we wouldn’t skip it to see ruins. We did visit ruins once while in belize.See More

Q: I will be Cozumel with my five year old granddaughter. Don’t want to travel far from ship since it’s just her and I, but she wants to buy souvenirs and I want to buy some vanilla. Is there a place close to port?

A: Oh yes! The whole pier has stores, restaurants and loads of other shops. You can spend the whole day there!
Answered by Tennlady on January 10, 2023
A: Los Cincos Soles has the BEST VANILLA! It’s the only vanilla I will use now. Have friends whom I’ve also converted over to it and I buy it for them while in port.LCS is also a great place to buy other items - staff is very friendly and items are good... quality.See More

A: Grab a taxi (very safe) go to the mega mart. Similar to walk mart. So many souvenirs everywhere. Don’t forget to haggle! For really great experience ask your cab driver to take you to his favorite place for lunch. Eat with the locals! That was my... daughters favorite part (or ask if he has kids and ask to got on their favorite)See More

A: Cozumel is the best place to find Vanilla!!! You’ll have plenty of opportunities on the port to find some. 5 is a fun age to take cruising, as a teacher, kids are my heart! Enjoy!!!
Answered by CruisingEmbug on January 12, 2023
A: los cinco soles in the port complex might be your closest reliable source. you will definitely find it cheaper at other places but you'll also find it with additives commonly throughout Cozumel (especially at the grocery stores)

A: Not banned on carnival ships but you must check it in and out at ports. no flying while underway.
Answered by leog on December 26, 2022
A: As far as the ship itself, they’re not banned. From mine anyways. The Serenade allows you to bring them, of course they will be stored somewhere. Your allowed request for it to be brought to you on the port days. But as bringing one to Cozumel I’m n... ot entirely sure.See More

Q: Attention past Mr. Sancho’s guests: Any feedback/reviews on the beach cabanas? I originally planned on just getting day passes but saw the option for the private beachfront cabanas and massages. I want to make the experience special but those extra things aren’t always necessary or worth it. Thanks!

A: I've never been but will be going soon. My girl friend swears by Mr. Sancho's and has already booked.
Answered by 5a55y on September 15, 2022
A: Personally unless a cabana is really something you want, there’s plenty of comfortable loungers that they put ocean front. We enjoyed our day there very much. Good food, great drinks and multiple mariachi bands that roam and play. Just watch those wa... iters! Once they figure out your drink of choice they will indeed keep them full. I staggered back to the taxi area for sure lolSee More

A: We were at Mr Sancho's last year with my parents and adult children. It was great. We opted for a table to hang out at. close to the pool/ocean/bar area. No issues of any kind. the food was hot and prompt, Drinks plentiful and when my parents returne... d earlier this year, their server rembered them enough to greet them. (they always introduce themselves as Mom and Dad 😁) No one attempted to drag anyone off anywhere. (not saying it can't happen, but no more then anywhere else)See More

Answered by sanhayes on September 15, 2022
A: It depends on the excursions, cruise line etc. Usually kids are priced differently.
Answered by k9nurse011 on August 23, 2022
A: There should be a listing with price for children when you check the details if not then it'stge same, however, if the excursion excludes children, adult only then there would not have a price listed.
Answered by esrescuer on August 23, 2022
A: if child price is listed then there is difference, If it's not listed then it's price by person regardless age.
Answered by SoySauce on August 26, 2022
A: usually it will specifically say but I've found when it doesn't its generally the same.

Answered by Kate25 on May 16, 2022
A: We are more low-key and quiet, so Nachi Cocom is perfect for us. They limit capacity, have a great beach, and a pool/hot tub.

There will be taxis lined up at the exit ready for you when you are r... eady to retiring port. It’s $17 each way.See More

A: If you go to Mr Sanchos there are always taxi’s waiting for you to take. It’s maybe a 10-15 minute ride from the Port. I can’t remember the price but it was reasonable. Whatever price If I do remember has more than likely gone up due to gas prices.

Q: Has anyone done the “Amazing Secret River” at the Rio Secreto Nature Preserve (caves)?
Thumbs Up

A: You will not be disappointed! I’ve never done an excursion like it. Well worth the bus ride from the dock to the caves. We wore water shoes that were like sneakers and would advise anyone to do the same. We picked ours up at Costco for a reasonable p... rice. I am not super fit and was hesitant to take the walking stick that they offered but I am glad that I did. They do a ceremony prior to taking you on the hike to the entrance. We bought the photos that they took on the thumb drive which included previously shot stunning images from inside the cave, totally worth the cost if it is in your budget. I hope that anyone that does this excursion has as memorable experience as I.See More
