Loved Daniel Johnson’s Hangout! Once outside of the port it is a bit scary. I would not wonder around by yourself. Make sure you plan an excursion.

We went to West Bay Beach, and paid $19 each to use Infinity Bay Resort. It was AMAZING! We heard others complaining that the didn't like Roatan, and they said that they didn't plan any excursions. Do your research because this island is a real gem!

Just did port walking. Kids did zip line across the water. Shopped all prices were very reasonable and none of the vendors were pushy at all. Lots of good deals to be had.

This port was very boring and pushy. We decided not to book an excursion with the cruise and get off to go and find something to do. Big mistake, we were like fish in a shark tank. People were screaming at us from every angle to buy an excursion and the pricing was continuously fluctuating. Long story short, buy an excursion on the ship or stay on the ship.

The first stop was Roatan Honduras, the port was nice, but not as built up as the port in Cozumel.  Evidence of the MSC ship hitting the pier was still visible but crews were actively making repairs.  Our first excursion was Maya Key Private Island Retreat. It was beautiful. The picture for the excursion on the RCL website is deceiving. While it was an island, it was a stone’s throw from the island of Roatan. We only saw one beach that was maybe a hundred yards long. While it was secluded, only because it was an island, it did not feel secluded when it was being used by other cruise lines.  We were only there half an hour when passengers from other cruise lines started picking up peoples’ things from the beach chairs and moving it to other locations while people in our group were in the water.  My wife and I were in the water when we saw them pick up our entire beach chairs and move them, then move other chairs to where ours had been. After that we picked up our stuff and moved up to the pool area. The included food was bland for my tastes. I did walk through the animal pens and saw some beautiful animals.  It is great that there are people and places that make the effort to take care of these abandoned and rescued animals. It is also sad that that these majestic animals end up having to be rescued.  The prices in the port overall seem to be cheaper her than I Cozumel. We purchased a 1.75-liter bottle of Bacardi for $16.  The wife told me it was considerably cheaper than the price in the Cozumel port.

We booked our own excursion with Little French Key. 3 of us took the scuba option and it worked out great. We met the rest of our group of 5 members around noon and spent a few more hours on the island with them. It was beautiful!! Highly recommend it.

Some shops in the port. Several excursions to choose from. I had a lot of fun doing the jungle walk, Zuperman zip line and then the 11 other normal zip lines as part of the adventure package. The normal package doesn't do the 2 Zuperman zip lines (laying down instead of sitting up). The longest of the 2 lines lasted about 38 seconds.
