If you want a great beach day in Costa Maya. Take a cab ($8) to Mahahual A great beach town. I go to Jaime’s Blue Reef. Jaime is a great host. I’ve been to his place 6 times and can’t wait to go back. Love it there. I do the all inclusive but there is an a la carte menu. His place doesn’t have that overcrowded feeling. He only takes 35 people a day.

This place (actual town is Mahahual) exceeded my expectations! I took the long walk outside of this extremely cheesy port & then I took a $8 taxi ride ($10 with tip) each way to the Krazy Lobster restaurant on the public beach. We had fabulous carribean lobsters, courteous service, fair prices, & the beach was absolutely idyllic as well. It was a perfect romantic beach day with my spouse. Yes the local vendors approach trying to sell you things every 10 to 20 mins unless you are in the water but they politely leave when you say no thank you. The massages & fish spas are cheap as well. I have no complaints & would absolutely tell anyone to leave the cheesy overpriced Costa Maya Port & visit The Krazy Lobster in Mahahual!

Chacchoben Mayan Ruins! That's all I can say! I have never enjoyed sweating in a rainforest so much! Learned a lot and had fun doing it! Even bought some organic chewing gum which originated from the gum trees there :)

Take the tour that goes to the ruins and the takes you to a Mayan village where the local women cook an authentic Mayan lunch for you. It is a small and delightful tour! Awesome!

Costa Maya was stunning. We selected the "Taste of Costa Maya & Beach Break with Open Bar" excursion. The beach was breathtaking. The water was so clear, you could see all the way down to the bottom. In certain areas, we were able to see the fish swimming around us. All of the beverages, alcoholic/non-alcoholic, were included. There was also food served on the beach at a very reasonable price. My husband and I, had some of the best tacos and pico de gallo that we've ever tasted. The only downside, is that there are a lot of locals coming up to you trying to sell various items, and that did become slightly annoying at times. Overall, the experience was amazing!

Highlight of the cruise. You have to leave the port, even though it's a very nice compound (pool, shopping, lots of restaurants, activities, dolphins etc). and walk out of the port to take a taxi or walk (45 minute easy walk) to the quaint village of Mahahual where you can find beaches, umbrellas, lounge chairs, restaurants and shops.

I love this port! So much to do and see! We rented a little golf cart and road around town and explored a little outside of the port! We went swimming and relaxed on the beach with a six pack of coronas, lobster and fish! It was amazing
