Barely ok. Formerly French and it shows. Not very friendly to Americans. Small buses and tight seating. A lot of tour restrictions.

In response to the claims of bad beaches and poor shopping, I took the whale-watching tour. We saw at least 20 whales (quite a few of them up-close) and were at one point surrounded by dolphins!

Tubing down the river through the rain forest was a blast! I highly recomend it to anyone visiting this island. I wasn't very impressed with the rest of the island.
