This is a small island with very friendly people. Since it was our first time there, we took a tour and found the guide to be informative and friendly. They are very proud of their island and are making great strides in educating their children.

Volcanic island...black sand beach. Did the Emerald Pool excursion through Carnival. The locals told us about a celebration they have every year for the whole island.

Very lush island. Took an island tour visiting the emerald pool and trafalgar falls. The beach wasn't much to brag about.

Ship docks next to ware house where local vendors have similar tables set up. Small local bars have beer 3 for 5 bucks. Nice outdoor spots to enjoy a reasonably priced beer, versus the 7 dollars ship charges

Very interesting people selling their wares. Look for the man that makes his own jewelry. Great deals and cool man. He was really the only person with selling original handmade items.

This was our first visit. It is a very lush and verdant island. We were there for their first Carnival day and it was quite a special treat. We did the Best of Dominica, but would recommend an excursion that was only to Trafalger Falls and Emerald Pool. The other time was just OK. Did not have time to get into Emerald Pool as was advertised. We would like to go back.
