This is the island to get the cheap souvenirs- I didn't make it to the French side due to timing-(couldn't get my but in gear) so I didn't see Orient beach but my cousin went and said it was full of folks trying to sell you things! I went to Maho beach on my own and it was excellent! Planes coming in and got ten dollar lounge chair right on the rocks with the waves on my toes! Nothing better! Just needed more time- get up early- get $9 taxi there and spend the day- drinks right on the beach and they are free fro those who go topless- $9 cab home!

St. Maarten has the MOST beautiful water in the Caribbean! Love it. Plenty of shops on the Pier. Short water taxi ride to main streets.

Could use a bit more direction for things to do form locals. beaches were nicest of all ports, however and cost was very cheap in comparison to other ports.

Visited the town, was just very commercial. Wish we had taken a tour or otherwise explored, but we were a bit burnt out by this point.

So disappointed with our over priced excursion to Orient Bay Beach. Horrible little packed area on the beach reserved, the lunch was terrible. Don't pay the money.

We actually did not stay on Saint Martin at all. We booked with a charter company to go to Anguilla for the day and it was absolutely amazing! Don’t hesitate, just do it! Anguilla beaches considered some of the most beautiful in the world for a reason. Cap Jaluca, (pardon the possible misspelling) was truly a highlight that I will never forget. If you do this, make sure your charter company calls ahead for lunch. We ended up not eating after waiting for an hour and a half so it’s definitely on Caribbean time.
