Barbados has a deserved reputation as a friendly and welcoming country. Is you like caches, sure o see the caves. It is highly accessible, even for people with limited mobility because of the solar-charged tram. We then tool a taxi to parliament and Ithe square, walked around downtown, Save time for Pelican Village Shopping Center. Unlike the docks, there ou can find art, crafts, and souvenirs that are really made in Barbados. Afterwards, it is about two long blocks along the coast to customs and the dock ares.

The Harrison Caves are incredible! With a park like area in the entry you can learn about the vegetation, then once in the information centre you learn about the unique development of the island before entering the caves. The natural formations in the caves are breathtaking.

FAVORITE port! We didn’t originally have any plans and were just going to wing it in Barbados. Ended up at Carslile Bay Beach. Found a spot that for $20 you get beach chair and umbrella rental along with a snorkel tour that takes you to see a shipwreck, sea turtles and a bunch of fish. The waters are turquoise and clear enough to see stingrays on the bottom. We walked down the beach and found a stand that sold flying fish sandwiches. We also got lucky and were there on fiesta Friday where they put on a little street party near port. They sold local crafts and food and played local music. The food and beers are cheap (I’m talking 4 local beers for $5), people are friendly and there are activities for everyone on this island.

Barbados is beautiful, Here we went on the Atlantis Submarine excursion. This was a little disappointing, obviously the sub has both port and starboard sides. In our trip the people sitting port had much more to see than the starboard side. We were hoping on the return of the trip that starboard would get to experience the same as port did on the way out, but we were not as deep on the return and there was nothing good to see. If you take this excursion make sure you board the sub in the first half of the group!
