There were so many fun excursions to chose from! Outside staff was waiting to take pictures of you and your family, offer iced towels to cool off, and give you cool water. It made me feel safer in an unfamiliar country and very well taken care of.

This port was just OK. There were only a few overpriced shops for souvenirs. We did the Monkeyland excursion which was fantastic. However, once again the bus ride was long (1 hour each way).

Fortunately for them they were not significantly impacted by the hurricanes. Tendered into the port was well done and visited the community there at the port. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the immediate area. The community had assembled entertainment to include acrobatics, dance and music.

We went to an all inclusive resort Ausol, that was great. Nice beach and great pools and restaurant. We got took on the beach by one of the bar girls. They seemed to have trouble with English but got impression that was an act.

I understand that this is not a regular port. We only spent about 15 minutes on shore. Would not return.

Do NOT take the River Cruise and Shopping excursion. I anticipate taking a cruise up a river to a market selling local crafts and other things. Instead the very slow bus took us to a river where we cruised for maybe 45 minutes total up and back, The bus barely made it up the hill when we left. Then they took us to a very expensive community. There was an area with an amphitheater made to look old. We had 45 minutes there. One shop and some restaurants. Then they took us to the harbor in this community. There were some shops and a grocery store. We asked where to buy ice cream and the shop we stopped and asked (which it would seem they would have know this) had no idea. We later found it as the bus was turning around. We headed back to the port. The bus was SO slow on the highway. I think the speed limit was 90 or more KPM. We were lucky if we hit 60.

We tendered into a port where there was nothing at all to do. We found that you have to take a cab to the beach if you do not have an excursion booked through the ship. The cabs were not inexpensive, we paid $95 round trip to get to BI BI beach.
