Wow! I fell in the love with the people and island. We were the first Carnival cruise back here and I'm so glad we got to go. There is still some damage but FEMA is doing a great job according to the locals. Megan's Bay was surreal. Cab rise there was $8 each way per person but worth every penny when they take you up the mountain to give you an aerial view of the beach thats rated in the top 10 in the world.

In St. Thomas we did the Discover Scuba tour. First time diving and the crew made it easy to understand and made sure we felt comfortable the entire time. Rob, Juli, Connie, and Katey the crew made this excursion a blast.

On this island, you must take transportation into town (but its affordable, $4 for cab or jeep ride) as there are only a few shops right at portside. Largest number of jewelry stores of any of the islands it seemed. Look for "Gladys' Place" restaurant in one of the alleys, fantastic local food! Read up on the history of this island, it is fascinating (pirates, etc.). Gorgeous vistas!

We booked an excursion through a 3rd party and had a great time on our tour. We shopped and then went for a tour and ended at the beach. The driver was nice and the island is beautiful! My only issue with this port was that the locals weren't a pleasant to interact with. We went to Meagans Bay and there weren't any chairs or umbrellas left to rent which we weren't really prepared for. The women at the restaurant and gift shop were quite rude. This wasn't my favorite beach of the trip but it was still quite beautiful. Maybe going earlier in the day when there are fewer people would have been a more pleasant experience.

I was here years ago, and I really need to get back. For great food, be sure to get to The Greenhouse! The people in St. Thomas are so warm and welcoming!

They had tons of shopping but I was unable to go because we were there for a short time. Instead we took a cab to Magen Bay beach. It was a rough ride there because we went over the mountain but once we were there it was wonderful.
