2nd time in St.Thomes. Took for $25 per person a taxi on the port and drove up the mountain. The most beautiful few you can imagine. Downtown St.Thomas not much to do when you already there before. Walked a little around, sit down and relaxed by a beer.

This was probably my 3rd or 4th visit to St. Thomas, so no shopping for me though there is a lot if that's your thing. Note that RC docks a long way from the main shopping area and you have to catch a transport to get there if you want to do that. We did catch a boat over to St. Johns for the National Park Tour which was okay - our driver was not particularly our cup of tea. The crew on the boat was interactive and engaged with the passengers and the trip was easy-peasy and pleasant.

If you are planning a water based excursion here, be sure to have a back up plan. Our first choice was cancelled and we ended up at the last minute on an excursion that wasn't that great. I liked the setup here as there are shops near the pier so you have time to shop and do an excursion if you choose. We actually shopped, came back to the ship and had lunch then went back out for our excursion.

Took a van up to the highest point on the island, was told there was a shopping complex there .. WRONG, was a beautiful location but worth on going if you want another view of the island, if not, stick to the Paradise Point excursion. Either way, don't plan on too much time doing either. Look at other excursions here. Did have lunch at our favorite restaurant here . Gringos .... if your on the island visit them! The best mexican food on the island.

The Smoking Rooster right along dock is excellent BBQ island bar with band to relax before getting back on ship.

The Smoking Rooster (BBQ Bar right by pier past Senor Frogs) was fabulous...Island style seating / atmosphere - outstanding beef brisket with mac and cheese filled with grilled sweet corn ...Very reasonably priced!

Grab a cab to Magens Bay! Much cheaper than booking an excursion through the ship. Spend half the day at the beach and still have time to explore town/check out Some historic spots.
