We rented a Jeep from a third party for $141. We drove to Lucaya National Park, it’s admission was $5. We walked to the caves and crossed the road to walk to the beach. It was really a nice place. There was so much nature to see and the walk wasn’t hard. The beach was beautiful, it is the location of the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean. We then went to the Botanical Garden it’s admission was $17 a person again another beautiful place. We stopped at the straw market and then just drove around, it was amazing to see how much work they still have to do after the hurricanes. This was our favorite stop, we loved getting out to see more than just beaches.

They had just been hit hard by Hurricane Dorian, so I feel sympathetic to the folks there. However, even in better days, this port is pretty lame and mostly industrial. There's some good scuba diving there, or so I hear, but that might be the work of a dedicated trip, not a cruise visit. I usually stay on the ship in Freeport when I'm there.

Bahamian house was a disappointment. Time was rescheduled by Carnival (not a big issue), but got there and the previous group was still there ...So you hang out waiting for them to leave an hour later. Once at the house, thought I would have a cold beer - they were out...Really! The cooking lesson involved taking predredged fish and placing it in the fryer. The service folks were nice but it was much less than anticipated.

I have been to Freeport & Nassau three times each. I would rather have two days in Freeport and just skip Nassau. The water is beautiful! We went to Junkanoo beach on our first cruise and it is really nice (there’s an entrance fee that includes WiFi but you pay to rent chairs & umbrellas) Then the second cruise we went snorkeling at Dead Man’s Reef (Paradise Cove) and it is amazing! The taxis are crazy and a rip off. Just expect that and get over it then enjoy the beauty! The last cruise we went to a place right next to Paradise Cove that was nice but Paradise Cove is better. You definitely need to go snorkeling no matter where you go!

Port needs a some work on getting business back open. There were a lot of local straw type market booths. And the people were very polite and welcoming. We did the beach promo excursion and was ok. The house vodka was awful. Chairs with umbrellas were nice.

This would have been great but the weather did not cooperate. It rained and the water was choppy. We could not get in the water. It was beautiful though.
