BEST SHOPPING DAY EVER! We got there after 5pm on a Sunday. (nothing was open) but some bars.,what more could a guy ask for? Actually, walked around, saw some things, had early dinner overlooking the dock area, met some nice people and took the bus back. Really, nice day exploring.

Ship docked in the center of the city. Only a small cruise ship can do that! Bermuda is so much nicer than the Caribbean Islands. Original itinerary had us going to St. Martin and Puerto Rico, but the hurricanes diverted us to Bermuda. Most everyone was happy for that change.

The main city of Bermuda. In general it’s like a small city but very very clean and the people are a mix of European, American, and Bermudian folks. Hints: 1. Take the mini bus to Horseshoe Bay Beach. It’s $7 per person one way. Way cheaper than a cab from the Royal Dockyard area. Some of the busses even give you a short tour while they are driving. 2. Get to the beach early. Get a spot in the shade and don’t rent an umbrella. Go around to the edge (on the left if you’re facing the water) and walk over to one of the smaller beaches. It’s less crowded and the water is the best we’ve seen in a long time. 3. Take the ferry to see the other main areas of St. George’s and King’s Wharf. The cost is $4.50 one way for a token or $5 cash (exact change!) at the boat. 4. Take the bus between St. George’s and Hamilton. The same token and costs will get you the bus ride. 5. You get the tokens at the Bermuda Information or bus stops in the three cities. 6. Bring waking shoes for St. George’s as it’s hilly and has cobblestone streets. It’s the original city founded in 1612. Be sure to check out the town square and hall. Great shopping here. 7. You can see their version of Parliament if you get to Hamilton’s Sessions House early enough. It’s near Church Street. 8. If you take the glass bottom evening your, take the latest they offer. The stars are magnificent out in the dark ocean.

We cruised to Bermuda 6+ years ago and really had a great time. Our ship docked across from their parliament building, so we were able to watch a ceremonial gathering. It was pretty interesting! They had a street festival as well.. our lighthouse excursion, was informative and enjoyable.. we were not sure if we would enjoy a cruise where the ship was really just a hotel.. but we did!

A great port with plenty to do. Good weather and good make it complete. Loved it here. I could do a week here all alone.

We visited the crystal cave's in St. George which was very nice. If you visit the crystal cave's there is no need to see the fantasy cave, pick one or the other and save a few dollars because it's basically the same thing. Take that saved money and visit Mama Angie's. It's a small hole in the wall type place, nothing fancy but clean and enjoy some sumptuous fish and chips.

Cruising is the way to go to Bermuda due to the ridiculously exorbitant prices of goods and services there. The beaches and places to visit are beautiful. The services such as public transportation are convenient, comfortable and on time. The people are friendly and you feel safe all over the Island. The taxi drivers we had are hard working and honest. We didn't bother dining out of the ship. During meals when we could, we went back to the ship and consumed the 5-star food quality they served without incurring additional expense. And that's the beauty of cruising in Bermuda.

Took the bus to Hamilton after a stop at Horseshoe Bay. Many nice English shops in town. And bankers in Bermuda shorts... or as they call them there, shirts. Took the ferry back to Kings Wharf (Dockyard). One pass good for all ferries and busses.
