We were looking for a quiet and relaxing cruise and that is exactly what we got and more, i.e.: the food, the staff and the overall beautiful ambiance of the ship.

Embarkation

Smooth and flawless.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Best food I've eaten on a cruise ship. The specialty restaurants were the best! Book your reservations in advance.

The classical string quartet playing soft music in the background at various times throughout the cruise was definitely a nice touch.

Children's Programs

No children travelled with me on this cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff in ALL areas of the ship were personable yet professional at the same times.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

The overall size of our cabin was perfect. The view was great from our veranda and cleanliness of our room was exemplary at all times.

Ship tip

If you expect the best in all facets of cruising you should definitely book a cruise on the Insignia. Top notch all the way.

We got the chance to visit the International Tennis Hall of Fame which is a tennis lovers dream and you can visit Newport, RI without seeing one of the mansions be it the Breakers or the Elms, etc. Try to buy your tickets in advance to obtain a discount because they're quite pricey at the mansions.

Boston, Massachusetts

The Oli's Trolley bus tours are great. Try a piece of blueberry pie at the West St. Café Seaside Grill you won't be disappointed.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

We visited the crystal cave's in St. George which was very nice. If you visit the crystal cave's there is no need to see the fantasy cave, pick one or the other and save a few dollars because it's basically the same thing. Take that saved money and visit Mama Angie's. It's a small hole in the wall type place, nothing fancy but clean and enjoy some sumptuous fish and chips.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very well organized which made disembarking seamless.
