Review summary

A great way to relax, and be pampered by excellent staff, food and drink. Enjoyed not being "up-sold" every few minutes as this is an All-inclusive. All the passengers we talked with were exceedingly friendly, engaging, and a great mix of folks from around the world.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy and smooth. We arrived at the Embarkation point a half hour before the official start, so we had to wait for all the other early birds to be processed before us.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food in the main dining room was fabulous! Morning room service was superb. The waiter brought us our tray of coffee and croissants, and then set up our meal with a white table cloth on our verandah table. We did not eat at the buffet. However, all the buffet tables were set with napkin and cutlery, and waiter came around and served beverages to the diners. The specialty restaurants were good, but not much better than the main dinning room. This is more a reflection of the overall food quality.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This is a smaller ship, and older clientele (Avg age ~70). Not a lot of activities; mostly trivia, bridge, bingo, casino, eating, drinking, and relaxing. Gym is nice and mostly empty. Pool area is delightfully quite; no loud music.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
For a small ship, the entertainment every night was excellent. Most of the time the singers and dancers were accompanied by a live band instead of loud canned music.

Children's Programs

No children on the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service and staff were outstanding. Ship personnel were engaging with passengers. The captain was very visible on the ship, and would always stop an talk with passengers.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It is a small cruise ship with 690 passengers. All the public areas are well appointed, and comfortable. Everything was spotless and well maintained. We never felt crowed, and there was always a seat available in all areas we wanted to visit.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin and bathroom are small. The bed was very comfortable and larger than any other ship we have been on. My wife did miss the towel-shaped animals that other cruise lines do.

Ship tip

Complimentary Mimosas are available every morning in the main dining room for breakfast. This is not described anywhere except a small sign in the Windows Buffet.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Barcelona is beautiful. We were there two days before the ship sailed.

Gibraltar (U.K.)

5 out of 5
Interesting to see. Easy walk from the ship to the center of town.

Funchal, Madeira

5 out of 5
Beautiful city. Azamara provided a free shuttle from the ship to the center of the city.

Hamilton, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Ship docked in the center of the city. Only a small cruise ship can do that! Bermuda is so much nicer than the Caribbean Islands. Original itinerary had us going to St. Martin and Puerto Rico, but the hurricanes diverted us to Bermuda. Most everyone was happy for that change.

Disembarkation

Slow to get off ship due to US Customs. We were in hurray to catch an early flight. We did just make it! Azamara process was quick and dignified, US Customs????
