We only saw Whittier as we arrived on the train and walked across the street to board the ship.

depressed little town. if princess didn't stop here, not sure there'd be any activity at all. Plus, hated the ride thru the tunnel.

Whittier was probably the worst port in terms of disembarkation because you really need a plan to get out of there and get on the way to anchorage because there is nothing to do there and the train is at 645. So you would be waiting for hours with nothing to do in the cold..
