Review summary

A good cruise thanks to the scenery. Had it not been for the fact that we were travelling with younger children, I doubt if I would have selected Princess for the cruise. Much prefer smaller shops like Azamara, Oceana or Viking. Also did not appreciate that you were "nickeled and dimed" for everything; to be charged for a soft drink at lunch or dinner was not good. Also, the price of tours booked through Princess were extremely high; went on our own and booked tours, many with the same companies the Princess uses, for much less. Seriously doubt if I would book another cruise with Princess.

Children's Programs

Children in our group decided to not take advantage of the programs.

Service and Staff

Room steward was very good and met our needs. The wait staff could be more attentive especially in the buffet area. Numerous times they passed us and did not even acknowledge or ask if we wanted anything to drink; had to help ourselves especially at breakfast. Wait staff in Portofino and Capri were good.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Layout of ship was passible. The public washrooms needed more attention; many were not clean .

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
In reference to the cabin above, we were actually in a balcony cabin, #B701; we switched cabins with a family in our party. The cabin was tight however passible. The shower was ridiculous; could not wait to get home to take a decent shower. Also, the constant water temperatures from cold to hot were annoying each time you took a shower. Our cabin steward was excellent.

Ship tip

Be prepared for the prices of everything on the ship. Compared to othe cruise ships that haveI sailed on, the prices on Princess were high.

I have to agree - the tours were very expensive and would not book through Princess again for tours. would do them on y own and get a better price.
