Snorkeling was fun - with the dry suits it really wasn't cold.

Great shops, but tendering was difficult.
by foxyslady
you no longer have to tender here but I was disappointed it was pouring rain and you had to walk a long way to get to the shuttle that takes you into town - before with the tender you got off the tender walked to the right along a beautiful walk way that led to a forest that hadbeautiful totem poles in them - with the shuttle (and if you had a walking disability you would have been exhausted getting to the shuttle) they drop you off in the centre of town

Yes, I enjoyed Sitka. Did an excursion here. Whale Watching, and Otters. It was a nice boat ride, but not worth it for seeing anything exciting.

I like the port, we chartered a boat outside the cruise ship. Cruise ship charges by the person, you can rent a private boat for half the price and do more.

Close to town and no need for shuttle, unless there is an excursion. Bear fortress was worth it.

Really enjoyed the Sitka Seanic Tour with Donna.

Really enjoyed our Sitka Scenic Tour with Donna. Seeing the Salmon swimming upstream, the fortress of the bear and the beautiful seaside was lovely.
