We did have bad weather Tried to do 8.5 hr cruise of Resurrection Bay- canceled 6 hr was made into 4hr( big swells) got partial refund

Only in Seward a short time to embark.

Just took the bus to Anchorage but came back for 5 days and Seward is a must see if you have time before or after your cruise.

We booked a train ride in the dome car which included two cocktails and a meal back to Anchorage for our return flight. It was amazing. What a beautiful ride. We also did a Skagway train ride and would skip that one and do other adventures in Skagway. This Seaward train ride is much better. Highly recommend.

A pre-cruise excursion to see Kenai Fjords is recommended. You will likely see whales, and won't have to try and see them on a cruise excursion.
