I would recommend avoiding the tourist shopping area unless your ok with being heckled by all the jewelry stores trying to sell high end jewelry. This goes for all the ports of call.

Nice port, although busy as there were four others ships in port. Walked to Creek Street.

If Disney opened an "Alaska Gold Rush Town" attraction, this would be it. Most of the town was built after 1954, and it's kitschy. Good food everywhere, though. The Lumberjack show is silly fun for the tourists (we enjoyed it). We booked the crab feast, which was excellent.

The city tour was a bust, however the totems were neat to see and hear a couple of the stories behind them. Could not enter the carving area.
