Beautiful city with lots of “stuff” to see....rivers, canneries, totem poles, wildlife and let’s not forget, Dolly’s House! (Look that one up!). We took an excursion that showed you a lot of the highlights of this city.

Ketchikan was crowded with 3-4 cruise ships docked but we had a great time here. Had booked excursion (no through Holland) with ISLAND WINGS for 2+ hour flightplane ride over the Fiord which was absolutely amazing and well worth the Cost. Michelle was an excellent tourguide as well as our pilot. Shona was great also, and funny! Would do this again and again!

I wish we had an entire day in Ketchikan. It appears to be a wonderful city and we were not able to explore as much as we wanted to due to time contraints. We did a duck tour once we got off the boat that lasted for 90 minutes and it gave us a quick overview of the town. By the time we did that and out souvenir shopping, it was time to head back to the boat. There is a lot to explore in Ketchikan!

Fantastic port - I don't know why people are so hard on this port in their reviews - we had a great time! We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather - sunny and 75ish - I was overdressed and a bit warm all day. We went to see the salmon swimming up the river (very cool), walked married man's trail, shopped around in the town, and couldn't resist flying in the float plane. The scenery was breathtaking and we landed on a little company-owned dock in the middle of this lake. It was just my husband and I with the pilot so it was such an amazing experience. While flying we saw mountain goats waaaaaaay up on top of the mountain. I know their name implies it but you still don't expect to see them way up there (at least I didn't)! I would agree with others - little trinkets are cheapest and have the best selection at this port.
