We didn't have enough time to go to the town of Hoonah.

It was neat to watch the zipline participants, but later people were turned away because it was almost immediately too windy to be safe. There were shops -- basically a tourist trap, however.

It is a mile to the village of Hoonah. You can get a shuttle bus for $3 each way.

Sea Whales watching. 4 hours spent were a bit too long. We had to pay a lot for being at sea and watching the same thing again and again, mostly the backs of some whales, and never did one jump up nor show the whole body!

Great development. Excursions were overpriced. Poor marshalling for excursion departures.
